Playing Uncharted 3 online is still one of the best multiplayer experiences available today. Although the online is still plagued by a few problems, if you’re lucky enough to not run into these you’ll have smooth sailing and tons of fun experimenting with the different modes available.

We kicked off with some co-op adventures, always awesome fun with two buddies, and this time round was no exception with Oliver, Knaughty_Knaive and I breezing (for the most part) through the Syria and Monastery maps. This is co-op gaming at its best, with team mates having to work together to accomplish objectives, revive one another and avoid the grenades and RPGs that are whizzing past their heads. Here’s hoping that Naughty Dog will see how much we enjoy these co-op adventures and gift us with a few more in the future.

Next we put our skills to the test in Team Deathmatch, where I enjoyed playing against some fun British players who took exception every time you killed them, and then begged to be on our team – needless to say we played another match with them! By this time Achtung!Baby and L1ghtn1ng had come online, so we headed into a private lobby to enjoy some gaming against our fellow South African gamers.

It was the first time I had tested out the Team Objective mode, and I enjoyed the variety offered by the different objectives in each round. Even though the Heroes team had the slight advantage with three players (Oliver, Knaughty_Knaive and myself), the Villains team (Achtung!Baby and L1ghtn1ng) stopped at nothing to challenge us and lodge more than a couple of grenades between our teeth. Whether we were defending territories, seeking out marked men, or capturing treasures, the competition was fierce, even though we shared more than a couple of laughs too.
