It’s no secret that I am a Tomb Raider fan. I have watched as the series grew in popularity over the years, been dismayed when it began to crumble a little over the past few years, excited when The Guardian of Light bore testament to a reawakening of the might of Lara Croft, and amazed when the new re-imagined Tomb Raider was revealed.
I can promise you one thing, this Tomb Raider is like none you have ever seen before, and that’s because it promises to show you Lara Croft like you have never seen her before. It’s more gritty and brutal than ever before, it’s scary and even terrifying at times, and I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.
Find out more about Tomb Raider, the reboot to the series, in this video interview with Meagan Marie, Community Manager at Crystal Dynamics. She discusses how the series has changed in 15 years and how the development team is working to bridge the gap between legacy Tomb Raider fans and new fans. She also takes a look at the core pillars of the Tomb Raider franchise (exploration and traversal, puzzle solving and combat) and how these pillars have been adapted for the new game.
Browse through our previous coverage of Tomb Raider to see just how far Lara Croft will go in order to stay alive, as her survival instincts kick in as she finds herself abandoned and afraid on an island, and we begin to discover how she became to be the hardened Tomb Raider we know today.
