US PlayStation Store Update for January 24th: Mortal Kombat digital, demos for The Darkness II and UFC Undisputed 3

This week’s PlayStation Store update includes a number of highlights scattered across a variety of categories. There’s not much new content or offers for PS Plus members, but regular PSN users can enjoy five free downloads (four demos and one Beta) thanks to the update.

The Gotham City Imposters Beta gives you the chance to sample the game’s 6 vs 6 multiplayer matches. If frenetic, fun, multiplayer mayhem is what you’re after, then definitely give this Beta a look.

In the demo category, The Darkness II and UFC Undisputed 3 both receive playable samples this week. If blood, gore and violence aren’t your thing then there’s always the PixelJunk SideScroller demo to while away the hours.

Last year’s excellent Mortal Kombat reboot is now available as a digital download for $49.99. I still don’t understand why the prices for PS3 Full Games are more expensive than their corresponding retail copies, but hopefully Sony addresses this issue in the near future.

The last highlight on this week’s list is the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Mediterranean Map Pack ($9.99). The pack adds six multiplayer maps to the game, and you can even download a trial version of this DLC - a PSN first. I’m not sure how the trial works so if you take it for a spin please let me know what it grants you access to.
