EA and EA Sports have formally announced a March release date for the pair’s upcoming FIFA Street, while an integrated social network feature, Street Network, has been revealed and detailed.
Called ‘Street Network,’ the system aims to encourage friends and online players to share their best tricks and continued progress in FIFA Street with one another, effectively spurring social competition within the game.
FIFA Street producer Sid Misra said of Street Network:
“Street football is all about the one-on-one battle, when you pull off a trick to roast your opponent,” said producer.
“The Street Network brings that real-world swagger into the game by enabling players to capture video of those moments and share them with everyone in their street network to see, and providing friends with a way to compare each other throughout the game.”
With Street Network for FIFA Street, players will have the chance to record their best tricks in video form and share them with friends, and you can also keep tabs on the progress of your fellow online players in modes such as World Tour and Head-to-Head Online Seasons, while also following friends’ status updates in EA Sports Football Club.
In the World Tour story mode in particular, you’ll be able to create a team of friends and compete against other player-created teams online.
FIFA Street is due for release across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms on March 13th in the US and March 16 in the UK and South Africa.
According to EA Sports, FIFA Street in the most authentic street football game to date and delivers “an arsenal of authentic street dribbling styles and trick moves that ignite the one-on-one battles.”
“Utilize the groundbreaking new Street Ball Control to experience the highest fidelity of touch on the ball and responsiveness ever developed by the FIFA franchise. Compete everywhere from parking lots to prestigious 5v5 futsal-style tournaments on the streets of the world’s most renowned cities.”
