Warner Bros. Interactive and developer NetherRealm Studios have confirmed today the the pair’s latest crushing fighting game, Mortal Kombat, will indeed make an appearance on Sony’s PS Vita handheld.
Developed by NetherRealm itself, Mortal Kombat for PS Vita is due for release in the ‘Spring’ of 2012 and has apparently been designed specifically for on-the-go gaming, featuring brand new gameplay features and content created exclusively for Sony’s gaming device.
Mortal Kombat Creative Director Ed Boon said of the game:
“The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita. The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
