Rockstar Games has just announced that the release of the studios’ next action game, Max Payne 3, has been pushed back into May 2012, past it’s originally revealed launch window of March.
A message on Rockstar’s blog read:
“Today we’re proud to officially announce that Max Payne 3… will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 on May 15, 2012 in North America and May 18, 2012 in Europe, with the PC version launching on May 29th, 2012 in North America and June 1st, 2012 in Europe”
According to the blog post, Max Payne 3 will “[continue] the tale of former New York City detective Max Payne” in a “dark and gritty action experience.”
Here’s a bit of background story for those of you who need to catch up:
“For Max, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, he takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past.
“But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.”
While the story of Max Payne will continue in the singleplayer campaign, Rockstar will include a fully featured multiplayer portion in Max Payne 3 that features a wide range of new and traditional multiplayer modes that play on the themes of paranoia, betrayal and heroism, all delivered with the same epic visual style of the singleplayer game.”

Delays by Rockstar don't worry me in the slightest ... Those guys know their stuff! ;)
I see this as a good thing, too many top games coming in march.....Diablo 3 comes to mind....so I see this as a blessing really.
How can we not look forward to this, its going to be insane, and a delay can only mean good things.
