Following the announcement of a new expansion pack titled The Sims 3: Showtime last year, EA has revealed a Collector’s Edition version of the content which the publisher calls “Katy Perry-themed.”
Thanks to an exclusive (and “extensive”) creative collaboration between EA and singing superstar Katy Perry, The Sims Studio will begin creating multiple games in The Sims franchise featuring in-game content and virtual goods themed after Perry, the first product of which will be the announced Sims 3: Showtime Katy Perry Collector’s Edition. Perry will also feature in an all-new advertising and marketing campaign for The Sims franchise.
Katy Perry said of the partnership:
“I love how you’re able to play out different stories through your Sims characters - giving them different careers and watching them succeed. It’s cool to see the Sims’ stage performances in The Sims 3 Showtime decked out just like my California Dreams Tour – even my cotton candy video screens are in there!
“I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I’m a Sim!”
The Sims 3: Showtime Katy Perry Collector’s Edition will include the Showtime expansion pack, as well as bonus downloadable content such as “an Ultimate Stage bonus venue, iconic Katy Perry themed items, and an exclusive poster. This iconic content includes fashions, a guitar, a hairstyle and various Katy Perry themed stage props.”

Now we can all play with Katy Perry...ummmm...I meant as Katy perry in the sims...I think this is a smart move, I haven't bought a sims 3 expansion for my wife in a really really long time. maybe she will enjoy this one.
well this is going to be interesting ha ha ha ha, i havnt been able to get back into sims as it just gets way too monotonous, and i really dont think a virtual version of Katy "no matter how hot she is" will make me get mack into it.
