Nintendo is no stranger to sales success, with the Wii having sold over 90 million units and the 3DS growing with popularity by the day.
The video game giant’s most recent accolade is having the Wii Balance Board bestowed with the Guinness World Record for “best-selling personal weighing device”. To achieve this honour, the peripheral sold a whopping 32 million units between its launch in December 2007 and November 2010. This impressive total comprises 22.6 million bundled with Wii Fit and 9.4 million bundled with Wii Fit Plus.
It’s quite remarkable to think that one in every three Wii owners bought the Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus bundle, and it’s highly likely that millions of people bought a Wii just to be able to exercise in the comfort of their own living rooms.
We’d like to congratulate Nintendo on their Guinness World Record and look forward to seeing more Nintendo hardware which changes the way we play and think about games.

This is an awsome award this is the one thing that Nintendo capitalised on and man did it work well, hell i was going to get the Wii just for this purpose.
I need to use my Wii board bit more, will be using it for my preparations for Comrades. Monitor my weight and BMI etc. might even do some Yoga......
