At this point, it might just be better for Ubisoft to say the game is “done when it’s done.”
After suffering numerous delays out of 2010 and into 2011, and then being forced back into 2012, Ubisoft has recently announced another delay for its tactical squad-based shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
No firm reason was provided for the delay, but seeing as how Future Soldier was originally due for release in March this year (a prime time period that companies use to bolster end-of-year earning reports), Ubisoft might feel confident enough to push the game out of financial year 2012 and into FY2013, thus kicking off the new money year in fine style.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is now due for release on May 25th in Europe on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while the PC version of the game will arrive at “a later date.”
A multiplayer beta has also been confirmed for April on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (the same beta that has been promised since the game’s announcement) - a beta that was previously exclusive to Xbox 360 owners.
Look over El33tonline’s past coverage of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier over here.
Are you looking forward to Future Soldier? It’s been a long time coming and has seen a number of revisions and changes over the years, with Kinect support being added to the Xbox 360 version.
The developers told El33tonline at rAge 2011 that the team is looking to create a cover-based shooter that is more responsive, better and more engaging than titles such as Gears of War and Uncharted, so there will at least be another contender to that particular crown!
