This week’s European PlayStation store update is simply massive, with a stack of new downloadable titles to purchase as well as the usual plethora of add-on content for your favourite games.

Highlights this week include the Battlefield 3 Beta which went live just a couple of hours ago. This 1173 MB download should be well worth it as you take on the rest of the world in the Paris-based ‘Operation Metro’ map. This open beta ends on October 10th.

If you prefer playing PS3 games from your hard drive then you’ll be pleased to see stellar titles like Crysis 2 (£31.99/€39.99) and Fifa 12 (£54.99/€69.99) under the ‘full games’ section of this week’s update. There’s also the Move-compatible Child of Eden (£23.99/€29.99) to delight your senses if you like your shooters abstract and colourful.

Other new releases this week include survival horror Resident Evil: Code Veronica HD (£15.99/€19.99) and the side-scroller Rochard (£7.99/€9.99).
