Counter-Strike: GO adds new modes, gets new screens

Formally announced in mid-August, Valve Software’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the latest and upcoming version of the developer’s tactical team-based online shooter, Counter-Strike, and will include support for leaderboards and matchmaking, enhanced online features, as well as new weapons, maps and characters.

Releasing next year on PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a digital download, Counter-Strike: GO will feature the addition of the ‘Arsenal’ mode (based on the ‘Gun Game’ mod for Counter-Strike: Source), as well as ‘Arsenal: Arms Race’ and ‘Arsenal: Demolition,’ with eight new maps included to “expand on the classic Counter-Strike gameplay.”

Valve is said to be working with the original creator of the Gun Game mode for CS: Source, Michael Barr, who said of the new Arsenal modes:

“We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of Gun Game.”
