This year’s Tokyo Game Show (TGS) runs from 15 - 18 September and will be host to hundreds of games all vying for Japanese consumers’ hard-earned yen. The PlayStation Vita, which goes on sale in Japan in a few months time, will undoubtedly offer a massive incentive for the public to attend this year’s event.
Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has announced that their PS Vita booth at TGS will have 31 playable titles spread across some 80 Vita stations. There’ll also be additional games which will only be shown in trailer form.
Here is the list of playable Vita titles announced so far for TGS:
- BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend (Arc System Works)
- Dynasty Warriors Next (Tecmo Koei)
- Asphalt Injection (Konami)
- New Little King Story (Konami)
- Mahjong Fight Club (Konami)
- Shinobido 2 (Acquire)
- Power Smash 4 (Sega)
- Uncharted (Sony)
- Gravity Daze (Sony)
- Hot Shots Golf Next (Sony)
- Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru (Chunsoft)
- Disgaea 3 Return (Nippon Ichi)
- Ridge Racer (Namco Bandai)
With around 40 PS Vita titles being displayed in SCE’s dedicated booth, there’ll be no shortage of excitement for the thousands of clamouring fans who’ll pack the show floor during the two days the event is open to the public. You can expect plenty of YouTube videos chronicling their exploits to emerge shortly thereafter!
Can you recall a time when an unreleased console had this many games in playable form months before its release? Hopefully this current abundance of software bodes well for the Vita’s overall success and translates into a huge library of quality titles by the end of its lifespan.
