That is a crazy price for a seriously awesome machine. I was going to get one at some point in the future, and it looks like the future is almost here.... :)
I had wanted to get a PS3 about a year ago, but I realised that I probably wouldn't get around to playing any games on it, so I didn't. It's probably reaching the price where I'll buy one anyway, then have it sit unopened near my TV. I realise it has some really good exclusives, but I've also come to realise that I have nowhere near enough time to play every good game that comes out, and Xbox exclusive and multiplatform titles are already taking as much gaming time as I have.
We hear you Graeme - and it's only going to get 'worse' over the next two months! ;)
Hopefully you can free up some time this holiday?
With the price cut it probably means that next year at E3 they will announce the next gen so that's pretty awesome :) gonna be expensive but awesome lol
That's a salient point - I can't remember how many major price cuts there have been (three? four?), but it's getting to where a new console is looming on the horizon.
That, or Sony will continue to focus on its game line-up to really emphasise that new price. Remember, it may be wise to keep eyes on the PS3 (and its value as a home console) and the PS Vita (should launch before E3 next year) before announcing an all new console.
