Most of us have fond memories of dressing up as pirates as kids and brandishing a makeshift sword in our friends’ faces. The good news is that piratey fun doesn’t have to be relegated to our childhood, and seeing as though today is ‘International Talk Like a Pirate Day’, we’ve got a great excuse to indulge our imaginations and summon up the buccaneer within us!
When you’re not purposely slurring your speech or racking your brain to find the best ‘arr’ puns, you may want to play some pirate-themed games. Xbox Live has a dedicated Pirate Day portal where you can find a complete list of all the piratey content on this platform including avatar items, Zune movies and XBLA games.
Telltale Games is also offering discounts on their five-part ‘Tales of Monkey Island’ series on both PC/Mac and iPad (offers expire 26 and 30 September respectively). The complete season on PC is now just $9.99 as opposed to the standard price of $34.99, and each episode on iPad will now cost you only $2.99.
We hope everyone has a great Pirate Day and gets into the fun-loving spirit of the occasion before the arr-fternoon is up!
