Direct-feed footage of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection showcases MGS3 component

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is an upcoming compilation for Xbox 360 and PS3 which includes HD remastered versions of MGS: Peace Walker, MGS2: Sons of Liberty and MGS3: Snake Eater.

We saw Peace Walker in action at E3, but the two PS2 games have not been shown in motion until now. Thankfully Konami has released a gamescom trailer which shows Kojima Productions Assistant Producer Sean Eyestone playing through the opening section of MGS3.

If you were a fan of the Metal Gear Solid games during the PS2 era or have an interest in HD remastered games then this footage will be especially meaningful to you. MGS3 had some of the best graphics for its time when it released in 2004 so it’s fascinating to see how they hold up to today’s standards.

The remastered version of MGS3 will have a fully adjustable camera (unlike the original Snake Eater), run at 60fps and have a complete list of trophies/achievements.

For PS Vita fans, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has promised that MGS HD Collection will also be “Transfarrable” to the handheld if you buy the PS3 version. Unfortunately the game is due out in November while the Vita’s U.S. and UK launch has been pushed back to early next year. You were originally supposed to receive a PlayStation Store code for the Vita versions of MGS2 and 3 with your PS3 copy of the collection, so I don’t know how it’s going to work now that this content is unlikely to be on the Store yet.

Stay tuned to El33tonline for all the latest news on the MGS HD Collection as its release date creeps ever closer.
