It’s been an exciting few days for football/soccer fans recently with more information spilling forth on FIFA 12 and an official release date for PES 2012. The clash of these titans is going to be epic!

Now, today, we’re also able to clap eyes on brand new gameplay footage that has emerged for FIFA 12, while sighting the cover stars for EA’s annual effort.

First, let’s watch an ‘accolades’ trailer for FIFA 12 that is filled to the bursting-brim with praise for EA’s upcoming football/soccer sim:

EA recently revealed the cover stars you can expect to grace the box art of your region’s version of FIFA 12, as Wayne Rooney and Kaka make a return as the main athletes this year.

Here is the list of FIFA 12 cover stars so far:

• Jack Wilshere, England, Arsenal
• Philippe Mexès, French, AC Milan
• Karim Benzema, French, Real Madrid

• Xabi Alonso, Spanish, Real Madrid
