It’s been another incredibly busy week here at El33tonline, not only because of a good, constant stream of videogame news, a few new reviews, an in-depth preview, and a host of competitions, but we also announced our attendance at rAge this year!

That’s right! We’ll be at booth 28 of rAge 2011 in Johannesburg, taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome from September 30th through October 2nd - if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by to take part in a few activities, giveaways and competitions, but if you won’t be there, we’ve got you covered.

All of this excitement and content tends to wear a person out, you know? So the team at El33tonline will be relaxing in the only way we know how - by playing games! Find out what members of the team will be busy with this weekend, and be sure to let us know what you’re playing, too:

“This weekend I will be mostly playing Killzone 3 local multiplayer. After what seems like a lifetime, I’ve finally got my hands on a copy of this blockbuster shooter, so I’ll be toasting some Hellgast till my batteries run low.

For a change of pace, I’ll try put some time back into Dragon Age 2. It would seem as though becoming the Champion of Kirkwall and restoring balance to a broken kingdom is taking longer than expected. And finally, I got a few more tracks of Cars 2 to finish until I can put it to rest.

All of this will be going on while the Uncharted 3 beta downloads in the background, sucking up my precious bandwidth, although I can hardly think of a better game to spend it on.”

“It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday …”

Yep. In the words of someone now (in)famous, today is Friday and tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwaaaards. That means just enough time to catch the Crusaders destroy the Reds (the Reds had it easy this year so they’re undeserving of the title) and then to either sit down to finish off my impressions of the new CoD: Black Ops map pack: Annihilation or seat myself in the cockpit of an Autobot in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Again, going with that someone (in)famous, the age-old moral dilemma of “which seat do I take?”

“This weekend I hope to be finishing up L.A. Noire. It’s been a monumental effort so far, and I’ve got to say the game drags at times. That said, L.A. Noire definitely gets it right in the “script”, “setting” and “interest factor of cases” departments. I’ll also be catching those pesky cheeksters from Ape Escape with my virtually transforming Move controller. It’s been about 12 years since I played the very first Ape Escape game on PS1, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the series has been adapted for PS3 and Move.

It’s my grandpa’s 90th birthday on Sunday so cake is sure to be involved in the festivities. When your adult teeth have been around for some 80 years (if you still have them), you sure as heck don’t want biltong to be the main course!

“When the weather outside is frightful, then the gaming inside is delightful!

This weekend will be spent Steaming up my study. Steam is in the middle of their Hot Summer Sale (stupid northern hemisphere) and this has caused me to spend nearly all of my savings on games. And by buying during the sale I save money, which means I have more savings, which in turn means I can spend more on the sale. It is a vicious circle, but my PC is getting a lot of love.

Add to that the [redacted], cold experience that is Duke Nukem Forever and my weekend seems complete with rollercoaster emotions and hot and cold experiences.”

“Let me let you in on a little secret, I didn’t manage to get as much gaming time as I would have liked to last weekend. It’s tragic I know!

So this weekend I’ll be heading back into Hyllis with Jade and hopefully completing the Beyond Good & Evil HD journey with her. I’ll also be spending some more time with Child of Eden and if I have any spare time after that browsing the PlayStation Store for any good deals.

Of course I’ll also be enjoying action and gunfights galore in the Uncharted 3 Beta…join me if you like!”

“Dazed and Confused…

It’s finally time to take my FIFA 11 skills onto the virtual field with El33tonline’s second match in the FIFA 11 Face Off challenge… if I had any skills, this opportunity would be very useful, so I’ll instead try not to get in the way of the experienced members of the team!

Then I need to investigate the true meaning of fear when I try to play the multiplayer portion of FEAR 3 - I’m hoping for a good time and instead of being creeped out by Alma in the singleplayer campaign, I instead look forward to scaring players online.

I’ll be the one running in and out of the shadows yelling ‘boo!’ into my headset. Fun times.”
