RAGE video diary talks enemies and dynamic combat animation

The penultimate video developer diary for RAGE has gone live and this time sees members of id Software discussing the various wily and active enemies you’ll encounter in the studio’s upcoming first-person shooter.

id Software’s ever-exuberant creative director Tim Willits goes in-depth on the bandit clans (Wasted, Ghost and Shrouded) that run The Wasteland of RAGE, while also talking about The Authority – the most challenging opponents in the game.

Most interestingly, however, lead animator on RAGE, Shinchiro Hara, as well as other members of the animation team let us know about the dynamic combat animation system id Software has implemented in the game that can lead to some interesting, tough and unexpected situations.

See all of these enemies and examples of the dynamic animation system in the latest developer diary below:

RAGE is due for release on October 4th in North America and October 7th in Europe and the UK.

Don’t hesitate to hit up El33tonline’s previous coverage of RAGE for massive amounts of screenshots, more trailers and developer diaries, and extra information on the game.
