There’s a recent trend where game developers are using social media to incorporate ideas, creative input or feedback from fans into their projects. An example of this was the shield design contest for Dark Souls which was announced on Facebook a couple of weeks ago.
BioWare is the latest developer to follow suit by asking Mass Effect fans to vote for one of six female Shepard designs on Facebook simply by ‘Liking’ their favourite image. The one with the most likes at the end of the promotion will be used as a default female protagonist in Mass Effect 3.
Currently a blonde Shepard (pictured below) is in the lead with 17 391 likes, so if you feel this makes a mockery of the dark-haired defaults from previous Mass Effect games you best get voting!
You can locate the diverse line-up of ladies over here.
Apparently the new “people’s choice” Shepard will not replace the default dame from Mass Effect 2. Instead, both will be available as ‘quick start’ options, along with your imported character from previous games in the series. As is BioWare tradition, you’ll also be able to customise your protagonist to your heart’s content.
BioWare’s armour-clad version of “Hot or Not” could come to an abrupt end at any time, so make your way over to their Facebook album and let everyone know which version of Ms. Shepard sets the galaxy alight.

number 5 looks...loooks....loooks....oops im turning Red when she looks at me like that. hope shes not taken lol
Number 5 looks like someone with psychiatric problems, not someone who will almost singlehandedly save the universe.... What's wrong with the original default? Are they are falling into the common "the-heroine-babe" stereotype? That would be disappointing after the refreshing difference that was the original FemShep.
