Insomniac Games recently confirmed news that the planned multiplayer beta for Resistance 3 will go live next month, in early August, for North American gamers who bought SOCOM 4 and European gamers signed up to PlayStation Plus.
Cause for celebration, we at El33tonline would definitely say, but what’s going to keep us busy until then and help us unlock content for Resistance 3?
What about a newly revealed web-based social game called Global Resistance?
If you make your way over to the Global Resistance portion of MyResistance.net, you’ll be given the chance to sign into the game (via Facebook), choose a side (Human or Chimera) and set about battling the enemy in this free-to-play web-based strategy game.
Once you take up on the cause and continue in on the game, you’ll be able to unlock exclusive Resistance 3 multiplayer skins, in-game titles and XP boosters.
“Customize your base, build and deploy your personal arsenal alongside thousands of other players,” writes Insomniac’s James Stevenson, “or attack on your rivals directly in head-to-head skirmishes. Will you join the Resistance… or crush it?”

In addition you can watch highlights of a San Diego Comic-Con panel where members of Insomniac, as well as two Resistance 3 voice actors, discuss the creation of, and inspiration behind, the studio’s latest game:
