In a bit of bad news for anyone looking forward to first-person ‘quad-wielding’ action this year, 2K Games has delayed Digital Extremes’ The Darkness II into early 2012 from it’s originally announced launch days of October 4th and October 7th in the US and Europe respectively.
From the Twitter entry announcing the news:
“The Darkness II has a new release date: February 7th 2012 in North America and February 10th internationally.”
Unfortunate, but no doubt in an effort to ensure that The Darkness II is of the highest quality so as not to disappoint fans of the comic, or those who played the original (and excellent) Darkness title from Starbreeze.
The Darkness II is looking very interesting with a stylised visual aesthetic and the ability to quad-wield weapons and vicious ‘demon arms’ at once – find out what we’re on about with El33tonline’s previous coverage of The Darkness II, where we’ve pasted up screenshots and videos in amongst extra information.
