SEGA, Gearbox Software and developer WayForward have today jointly announced another way for you to dive into the creepy, acid-spitting world of ‘Alien’ with a new DS game, Aliens: Infestation.
Billed as an action-packed platform shooter “with a hardcore, retro feel,” Aliens: Infestation aims to feature a deep storyline, too, that will change depending on how you play the game.
Naturally, being a game based in the Alien and Aliens property, you’ll be shooting down hordes of Xenomorph aliens with iconic weapons from the movies (and the Pulse Rifle, no doubt), while sprinting through the eerie, slimy and grimy future of this universe, all on a quest to rescue comrades captured by the aliens.
A neat cover and blindfire feature is also mentioned in the description of Aliens: Infestation, which will be interesting given the game’s 2D side-scrolling perspective. Throughout the game, you’ll be able to recruit roughly twenty Colonial Marines (each with “distinct personalities”), and depending on who you have in your team, the story and dialogue of the game will change.
“Can you handle the tension and terror which meets you at every level?”
I sure hope so.
Aliens: Infestation releases in September this year for Nintendo DS.
