No doubt of special importance was the showing of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at Microsoft’s E3 2011 press conference (as opposed to, say, Sony or Nintendo’s events), and Infinity Ward’s own Robert Bowling and Sledgehammer Games’ Glenn Schofield took to the stage to give a live demonstration of the studios’ next blockbuster first-person shooter.
Taking place in a level called ‘Hunter-Killer,’ the Modern Warfare 3 demo took us from the depths of an underwater stealth operation into the wartorn city of New York, and revealed just some of the graphical tricks and high action the game will have on offer when it’s released on November 8th this year.
Indeed, the significance of Modern Warfare 3’s showing exclusively at Microsoft’s event was clear when it was announced that all add-on content for the game will launch first on Xbox 360 in 2011, and 2012.
