If you’ve played Demon’s Souls you’ll know that developers From Software have a talent for designing some pretty awesome-looking weapons, armour and shields. The “spiritual successor” to this game - Dark Souls - will undoubtedly also feature dozens of incredible new implements of war to arm your demon-slayer with.

Publishers Namco Bandai are giving you a chance to create a shield design of your own which, if selected, will be featured in Dark Souls when it releases on PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
There are three shield templates to choose from (pictured below) and a winner will be selected for each of these categories. You can submit a maximum of three designs along with a suitable title for each one.
The competition ends in 21 days and you’ll need to head on over to the Dark Souls page on Facebook to enter. Entries are streaming in thick and fast and can be viewed under the photo section of the game’s Facebook page.
Hopefully From Software imbue the three winning shields with good enough attributes to make them worth wielding. If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a talented designer, now’s your chance to show the action RPG community your artistic wizardry.
