Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios are eager to let everyone know that the promised Skarlet downloadable content is now available for Mortal Kombat, the publisher and developer’s outstanding (and brutal) fighter.
Available over Xbox LIVE for 400 MS Points and the PlayStation Network for $3.19, the Skarlet DLC adds the first of four brand new fighters to the roster. Skarlet is said to be “ferocious” and has her own set of fatalities and moves for you to learn.
Watch a trailer featuring Skarlet in action over here, if you like.
You can also get the Skarlet DLC with Mortal Kombat’s Season Pass, which is now available over Xbox LIVE for 1200 MS Points and allows you to gain access to future DLC for the game. The free-to-download Mortal Kombat compatibility pack is available today, too, and includes two skins for Cyrax and Sektor from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
The second and third downloadable characters for Mortal Kombat are currently known as ‘Rain’ and ‘Kenshi’ (who have both appeared in Mortal Kombat games before) while the fourth fighter is mysteriously unknown. These characters are expected to become available over the next few months.
(Note: Due to the the nature of the PlayStation Network content publishing schedule, European users may only gain access to the new DLC tomorrow.)

Comments:
I'm all over the season pass like blood over a disembowelled opponent. Eww, that's more unpleasant a metaphor than I was going for.
Random MK fact: Skarlet is the first new character in MK9, all the other characters are from MK 1, 2 or 3. Even though she is technically based on a MK2 glitch that would randomly cause Kitana to appear red instead of blue, the Skarlet character is new to the series.
Eww, that is an unpleasant metaphor! ;)
Looking forward to the Playstation Network getting the DLC...been waiting for too long time now......Exciting stuff!
Mmmm no season pass for PS3 gamers....
