The rumoured third map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops has today been formally announced by Activision and Treyarch with screenshots and a gameplay-packed developer diary, and the pair will once again bring Black Ops players four all-new multiplayer maps and a brand new zombie mode level.
Called ‘Annihilation,’ this latest set of downloadable content follows on from the first two map packs, First Strike and Escalation, and will include multiplayer maps titled ‘Hangar 18,’ ‘Drive-in,’ ‘Silo’ and ‘Hazard,’ as well as a single zombie map called ‘Shangri-La.’
In the developer diary for the Annihilation map pack below, developers from Treyarch talk extensively about these new levels, the variety they offer, different strategies you can employ to dominate them, as well the extreme dangers you’ll be up against in the new zombie level. It looks intense!

The Annihilation map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released over Xbox LIVE first on June 28th, for a cost of 1200 MS Points. To celebrate the pack’s release, Activision and Treyarch will additionally host a Double XP Weekend for Black Ops starting on July 1st.
