Core Gaming (official Nintendo distributor in South Africa) has today confirmed a late June release date for Wii Play: Motion, the follow-up to Nintendo’s wildly successful (million-selling) Wii Play, while revealing that the game will come bundled with a red Wii Remote Plus.
Releasing on June 24th in South Africa (which is directly in line with the game’s UK release), Wii Play: Motion for the Nintendo Wii comprises 12 mini-games designed to take full advantage of the enhanced motion capabilities of the Wii Remote Plus.
In Wii Play: Motion, you’ll be able to use your Mii character to represent you in each of the mini-games as you play through extra fun-sounding scenarios like Wind Runner (navigate through an obstacle course by flying with an umbrella), Treasure Swirl (use your WiiMote Plus as a winch to collect long-lost treasure), Cone Zone (build the perfect waffle by balancing scoops of ice-cream) and Skip Skimmer (skip stones over a lake).
There’s also Spooky Search, which uses the speaker on the WiiMote Plus to give you clues as to the whereabouts of “wayward spirits that have escaped through your TV screen - and into your living room.” You’ll need to catch the spirits by using the controller and ‘drag’ them back into your TV to capture them!
All of the mini-games in Wii Play: Motion are playable in singleplayer mode, but as with other Nintendo party games you’ll want to get the full experience by playing with friends, and Wii Play: Motion allows up to four people to join in.
Be on the look out for Wii Play: Motion in South Africa on June 24th, exclusively on the Wii.
