For the second week in a row, Valve Software’s Portal 2 has claimed the top position on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing, proving that ‘testing’ can actually be quite popular if put in the right context.
This despite a 51% drop in sales compared to the week previous!
Mortal Kombat (sales down 42%) remains in No. 2 on the sales chart, as Zumba Fitness (sales down 21%) steps up one place to No. 3 following a release on PlayStation 3 (although the previously released Wii edition of the fitness game is still the most dominant version in sales).
Operation Flashpoint: Red River (sales down 21%) moves up two places to appear at No. 4, as Call of Duty: Black Ops moves in the opposite direction to chart at No. 5. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars only has to give up one position to sit at No. 6, while FIFA 11 is a non-mover at No. 7.
Wii Fit Plus continues its Top Ten run and makes itself comfortable at No. 8 (up from No. 9 last week), Homefront makes a similar move up to No. 9 and Just Dance 2 reclaims a Top Ten placement by hanging tough at No. 10 (up from No. 15).
Two new releases from SEGA didn’t make much of an impression on the chart this week, as Virtua Tennis 4 debuted at No. 23, while Thor: God of Thunder failed to make it into the Top Forty.

it's really nice to see a cerebral game like portal 2 doing so well!
Indeed! We'll be able to find out what Oltman thinks of Portal 2 V. soon to find out if this sales success is really warranted or not.
i saw a really interesting interview with the writer for portal 2. apparently he also worked on psychonauts and even wrote reviews for gamespot. seems like a sharp, witty guy! apparently one of his favourite games is demon's souls. so he's got good taste too! everyone seems to be raving about the humour in portal 2 so obviously he did a great job.
