As Tom points out below, South Africa has recently become gripped in a severely icy chill which is (hopefully) due dissipate in the next few days, but it’s no longer deniable: Old Man Winter has arrived in the country, and he’s as grumpy as ever.
What’s a gamer to do? Again, Tom provides an interesting thought on the correct course of action to take while ensconced in the cold, as do other members of El33tonline as we discuss what will be keeping us warm over the next two days:

“The mercury took a plunge over the last couple of days so I’ll be staying indoors this weekend, either curling up under the covers with some form of entertainment or being lazy on the couch in front of my TV. Actually we’re in the business of playing games so let me rephrase that to “I’ll be in the office in front of the TV.”
The titles I’m busy with at present are NFS: Hot Pursuit and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, but I’ll definitely be branching out in the next few days to welcome such titles as SBK 2011 and DiRT 3 to my clan of current titles being swapped in and out of the disc tray.
E3 is just over a week away so don’t miss out on all the big announcements coming your way courtesy of the El33t crew.
Have yourself a baie lekker naweek (that’s Afrikaans for “very nice weekend”)!”

“Another weekend means some more gaming time. Having finished LA Noire in record time I am inclined to start judging people’s honesty more severely. I am still not sure if that is a good thing or not…
This weekend will be spent with the excellent RPG Witcher 2 on PC. Geralt has been great so far and I am very keen to spend more time with him. In a totally bro’ way. Really. Cough.
Hopefully my flaky internet will allow me to complete the XBLA Dungeons and Dragons game named Daggerdale. Just in case Witcher 2 is not enough of an RPG for me I can always fall back to good old D&D.
I will also be performing some volunteer work which includes some heavy handed manual labour. Not the best thing to do for a nerdy geek like me, but some fresh air will do me good!”

“Well, I’m still here. And judging by the fact that you’re reading this, you’re obviously still here too. Since you’re reading this, it’s been posted to El33tonline.com, which means El33tonline is still here, which of course must mean that that end-of-the-world prediction was wrong.
(Actually, turns out the dude made some incorrect biblical calculations and it’s been postponed to somewhere around November, I think).
Since it’s not the end of the world I have a lot of explaining to do for the local authorities (more about that later… my lawyers say it’s not stealing if it’s an apocalypse and you’re looting for survival) so I’ve decided to lay low for the weekend and finish off my impressions of Brink (if I can find an online game to join) and Lego: Pirates (which finally arrived :)).
Somewhere on Saturday there will be some widescreen HD Sharks vs. Waratahs action to tide me over and of course a little QT with my girls.
Until next week, May the rest of May be with you, while it’s here!”

“Let’s! Do! The Time! Warp! Agaaaaain!
This weekend? What am I going to be doing this weekend, you ask? A lota’ lota’ sleep. And SOCOM: Special Forces.
Judging by last week’s Pre-W33kend Post, you’d be forgiven for thinking me the resident ‘Sleepy Joe’ of El33tonline, but in fact ‘things’ have been incredibly hectic at the ole’ Towers over the last few weeks… and they’re only going to get more insane with E3 2011 just around the corner!
So I’ll be taking the opportunity to catch up on some rest, SOCOM: Special Forces (now that I can play online), and prepare mentally and physically for the challenges ahead.
Well… by ‘prepare physically’ I mean ‘eat lots of Dagwood sandwiches.’ And mental preparation? ‘Watch 2001: A Space Odyssey again.’
E3 2011 doesn’t stand a chance against an attitude like this!”
