Originally meant to launch this month to bolster the 3DS’s list of features, Nintendo has unfortunately confirmed that the console’s much anticipated eShop will not be available in May.
The eShop, when it’s finally launched, will allow 3DS owners to purchase and download additional virtual content and full games. This functionality will become available via a system update for the 3DS, while an internet browser will also be included with the firmware.
According to Nintendo, however, US and Japanese gamers will have to wait until June 6th for the eShop, while those of you in Europe (and applicable territories) will get the online storefront update on June 7th.
Interestingly, Nintendo will be holding it’s E3 press conference around this time (June 7th), so we’ll hopefully be able to spy a few more features of the eShop around this time.
