[Update] Seems as though the release of Dungeon Siege III has also been pushed back in North America, too, as Square Enix has announced a delay for the game in the region. Details below. [End of Update]
Those of you in Europe (and other PAL territories) looking forward to the imminent release of Dungeon Siege III next month will need to temper your excitement by just a few notches, as publisher Square Enix has today announced a bit of a delay for the game.
Obsidian Entertainment’s action RPG will now launch across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in Europe, the UK and other EMEA regions on June 17th this year, as opposed to the originally announced release date of May 27th.
It’s currently unknown whether or not Dungeon Siege III’s May 31st release in North America has been changed.
This means we’ll have to wait a little while longer to get our collective hands on the “robust RPG system” contained in Dungeon Siege III, and experience the “endless variety of loot,” “compelling storyline,” and “intuitive action gameplay.”
Don’t forget the cooperative multiplayer modes!
If you’re a little saddened by this delay news, you can try to cheer yourself up by swabbing your eyeballs over El33tonline’s previous coverage of Dungeon Siege III for batches of videos, bunches of screenshots, and bundles of information.
[Update]
A delay for Dungeon Siege III has also been announced for North America, and the action RPG will now launch in the region on June 21st rather than the previously stated date of May 27th. A statement from president and CEO of Square Enix, Inc. Mike Fischer, read:
“Square Enix is committed to delivering the ultimate Dungeon Siege experience. Although the final polish phase has demanded a bit more time than originally planned, we want to assure fans and followers that the additional effort will allow us to deliver an action–RPG worthy of its rich heritage.”
