CD Projeckt Red and publishing partner Namco Bandai Partners recently announced that the pair’s epic and astounding action RPG, The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings, has gone gold ahead of its worldwide release date of May 17th.

This means that factories in undisclosed locations around the world are now able to start pressing discs and printing paper to create retail copies of the game that will magically appear in stores next month.

Oh, and the Premium Edition and limited Collector’s Edition versions of The Witcher II are also in production. Nice of them to let us know.

If you haven’t yet clapped eyes on The Witcher II for PC, you can do worse than rummage around in El33tonline’s past looks at the game, but the long and short of it is that this game is A.) visually amazing; B.) extremely feature rich; and C.) visually amazing.

It also features “an all-new storyline filled with complex characters, captivating political machinations and intriguing challenges,” as well as excellently visceral combat that combines “tactical elements with dynamic action.”

In gamer parlance, it’s looking ‘hawt.’
