Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 are both set to be the biggest blockbuster releases in videogaming this year, both releasing at the end of the year, and both exclusive to a single platform - both sure to be competing for your cash this holiday season.
That doesn’t mean that top developer talent working on these games can’t look forward to one another’s titles, and in a recent Twitter exchange, Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War) and Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells (Uncharted) remind us that, at heart, they’re just big ol’ videogame geeks like us.
It began when Bleszinski tweeted:
“Just caught wind that [Naughty Dog] folks are checking out [the Gears of War 3] beta. I hope not. Their asses had better be finishing Uncharted 3 for us! ;)”
This in itself is a heart-warming gesture - every gamer on the planet is looking forward to Uncharted 3, and Bleszinski is no exception!
This tweet was followed up by a reply from Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells:
“How could we not? Had a great time with it! But for now, back to work if you insist. Can we expect to see you in the [Uncharted 3] beta?”
Sweet.
Bleszinski is always keen to remind console war veterans that he’s just as much a gamer as anyone else and enjoys all titles across all platforms, so maybe we (READ: You) should too?
We’re desperately looking forward to both Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 when they release later this year! Are you?

Well done Wayne indeed!
well it looks to me "like" this website is getting better and better!! i "LIKE" that. ;)
Ah, Wayne would be proud of that message, Bronwin, for many reasons! I think you just made his day! ;)
im totaly looking forward to the gears of war 3 story, and i love the 4 player co-op!!! and in the multiplayer line up, im looking foward to BATTLE FIELD 3!!!. man so many 3's coming out this year, its like the 3rd dimention this year lol.
You've got that right!
Let's see, we've got Uncharted 3, Gears 3, Battlefield 3, Resistance 3, Mass Effect 3... c'mon, there must be more than that! ;)
don't forget demon's souls 2 and the witcher 2!(_*) and then we have all these games going back to the original name like mortal kombat and now tomb raider.
Well... third entries, but in terms of big game releases there are at least a dozen more, Dark Souls and Witcher 2 amongst them, for sure!
lol - i know my logic was kiinda off there. i was just saying that there are a lot of "2" games coming out this year as well, and even a few "1s" even though they are actually sequels.
Oooooh! Understood! ;)
isn't it a weird concept that mortal kombat 9 is called mortal kombat; ssx 4 is called ssx and tomb raider 8/9(?) is called tomb raider. the question is, will we ever have a future final fantasy game being called final fantasy...(-:
i wonder how sites like gamefaqs, gamerankings and metacritic will distinguish between games with the same name, other than the obvious difference in platform? speaking of mortal kombat, i saw a product listing today for a mortal kombat hd collection coming to ps3 later this year. have no idea what the pack entails though!?
