As fans of the epic adventure game series Shenmue will know, the series was always meant to be a trilogy, but thanks to an insanely expensive development period and poorer-than-expected sales for the original game and its sequel, the planned third entry was never made.
While this of course meant that the gaming world was deprived of another masterpiece from SEGA and legendary game developer Yu Suzuki, it also meant that the story of Shenmue was never resolved, and may never be resolved.
Videogame comedy group Mega64 found this situation to be entirely unacceptable and took the opportunity to speak with Suzuki himself during the week of Game Developers Conference to find out ‘what may have been’ in Shenmue III, and how the story might have wrapped up, all captured on video for you to see and accompanied by visual aids. Cliff Bleszinski even makes an appearance to help the narrative.

shenmue 3... if only. sega should use some of the money they make from the yakuza series (which stole tons of ideas from shenmue) and give it to yu to bring his ideas to life. shenmue 2 was something very special, especially towards the end, so the video gaming world would certainly be a better place if shenmue 3 ever got the green light. if you haven't yet seen the trailer for the cancelled shenmue online you should give it a look-see to get an idea of how good shenmue 3 could look on the ps3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIf4zYj7qgE and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNJG5z_H1ak
