[Update] ‘Arrival’ for Mass Effect 2 is now available for purchase and download via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360. [End of Update]
It was recently revealed that the next piece of downloadable content (DLC) for Bioware’s space opera RPG, Mass Effect 2, would be the game’s final story addition, but don’t get too sad – Mass Effect 3 is due for release later this year!
Mass Effect 2, however, is still very much alive and kicking with the release of the game on PlayStation 3 early this year, and with the release of the ‘Arrival’ DLC today on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, you’re sent on another adventure, this time to “the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion that has been looming since the very beginning of the series.”
This trailer for Arrival will explain everything:
Mass Effect 2 – Arrival DLC Trailer
The Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2 will become available on Xbox 360 and PC platforms today for 560 MS Points and 560 Bioware Points respectively (with three new Achievements included), and then today and tomorrow for PlayStation 3 owners for £5.49/$6.99 (with three new Trophies).
Executive Producer on the Mass Effect series, Casey Hudson, wrote:
“All year, we have been extremely honored and humbled by the reception we have received for Mass Effect 2 from players around the world, including our post release DLC. Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest.”
