Readers in the UK, Europe and North America, please bear with us for a second, because gamers like us here in South Africa find things like this incredibly cool!
El33tonline Editor-in-Chief Lisa is currently in London following her attendance of the PlayStation Experience, an event hosted by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to give journalists in the EMEA region a chance to go eyes- and hands-on with all kinds of exciting PlayStation 3-exclusive games, including Killzone 3, Resistance 3, inFamous 2, Journey, MotorStorm Apocalypse and Uncharted 3.
During Lisa’s travels she happened upon a heart-warming sight in the sub-zero city – an advertisement for Dead Space 2 on a double-decker bus!
Sure, London folk, this may just be an average everyday thing for you lot (the folks in the photo seem unimpressed) but here in South Africa, this kind of videogame advertising is a rare sight indeed! It’s a thing to savour!
Hmm. Tasty Necromorphs…

Thanks for the insight there Dieter, much appreciated!
It would be great to see the culture of videogames get a little more mainstream here in SA to deserve the expense of high profile advertising, which in turn would result in conversation about games.
Whenever there's a Nintendo ad on TV, people who know I play games have to tell me about it: "Oh, did you see that 'Mario' ad on TV last night?" I like that, even if the ad was for Wii Sports Resort or something else... ;)
Yeah, I totally agree. I grew up in SA, and when I first came over to the US, I was amazed to see game ads everywhere. Not only on billboards, taxis and newspapers, but even on mainstream tv channels. The gaming demographic has definitely changed, not only is it the teenagers playing games anymore, the average age of a gamer in the US is now late 20s, so advertising is a lot more mainstream.
