While a demo for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars was recently released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, and we have confirmed release dates for both of these platforms, question marks were hanging over the release window for the 3DS iteration of TT Games and LucasArts’ latest LEGO-themed adventure game.
No more, though.
It’s now been confirmed that the 3DS version of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be available day and date with the release of the Nintendo 3DS, on March 25th in Europe and the UK, and March 27th in North America.
“The 3DS version of the game will feature brand new gameplay mechanics that will allow players to create, control and explore their favorite moments from the hit animated television series like never before,” we’re told.
“All in a 3D environment, the new handheld version will also feature intense dogfights in space or cut through swatches of enemy droids in over 10 story-based levels and bonus mini-games including snowball fights and Droid volleyball. Players can also use the Nintendo 3DS’s Street Pass and Play Coins to unlock new characters and bonus content.”
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will of course also become available on March 22nd and March 25th in North America, and Europe and the UK respectively on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP and PC, and you’ll be able to take on the role of one of The Clone Wars series’ characters including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano to indulge in all of the lightsaber throwing, cutting and climbing action you can handle, all wrapped up in trademark TT Games style and humour.
