Late last week Telltale Games (Sam & Max, Tales of Monkey Island) confirmed that not only is the development team working on episodic game adaptations of comic books ‘Fables’ and ‘The Walking Dead,’ while continuing work on games based on ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Back to the Future,’ but the studio also revealed that it would be bringing a classic Sierra-borne (Activision-owned) franchise back to life: King’s Quest.
Telltale has always been extraordinarily busy working on multiple games (and multiple episodes for those games) at a time, but now with five known games (and episodes for those games) currently in development, the offices that episodic gaming built must be a hive of activity right about now.
Telltale of course began life developing episodic game adaptations of the ‘Bone’ comic book franchise, so it’s fitting now that the company has effectively asserted itself as the authority in this segment of the videogame market that it continues its success with two more comic book adaptations, with Fables and The Walking Dead, both of which will be based on the original graphic novel material (as opposed to the TV series, in the case of The Walking Dead).
Work still continues on Jurassic Park: The Game at Telltale, with the first episode releasing in April this year. You can watch the debut (exciting!) trailer for this game below:

Don’t forget about the second episode of Back to the Future from Telltale, which released last week (the first episode went live this past December). The next three episode of Back to the Future are expected to release over the next three months.
Also: A second entry to the Puzzle Agent series was announced at the recent press conference, so make that six games currently in development at Telltale that we know about.
Oh wait. Something called ‘‘Hector: Badge of Courage,’ “a trilogy of point-and-click adventure games” is also in the works. Make that seven!
But of course the biggest news from Telltale’s announcement event last week was the reveal of new King’s Quest games, but other than the confirmation that these games will not be straight ports from the original series, not much is known about this particular production.
Telltale was extremely successful in breathing new life into the Monkey Island and Sam & Max series, so we can trust the studio to do a similarly excellent job with King’s Quest.
But is Roberta Williams involved? This is a question.
