This just in from DICE, the Back to Karkand expansion pack for Battlefield 3 is now available on the PlayStation Store and in-game store. It will be available as a PS3 exclusive for one week, as will every future expansion pack for the game. You’ll be able to get it for free if you own the Limited Edition of Battlefield 3, otherwise you’ll have to pay $14.99 to get the pack.
Back to Karkand includes four new maps (Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula), which will all be available in the server browser and Quick Match filter settings once you’ve downloaded the expansion pack. And just so you know “there will be servers that mix and match maps from the base game and Back to Karkand, so you will never have to commit to playing either base game or Back to Karkand maps in your gaming session.”

I really can't wait for this to come to the Xbox 360 next week with the massive update. So happy i got the LE so I can get these awesome maps for Free. Can't wait to do some Killing (and dying) on these maps. FEEL THE BATTLE, see you all on the battlefield.

and this DLC is coming with a 200mb patch. it fixes a whole lot of stuff in the game. including the flash light. (yippeee) no more getting blinded across a field in the day.
ALL pc gamers that got the limited edition BF3 can download the DLC for free with the new patch. Just be warned it is 3.9Gb that you need to Download. This is For the PC though. Im so looking forward to Wake Island again... from the good old BF 1942 days
I won't be surprised if the DLC & patch is the same size for the XBOX & ps3. Will start downloading the DLC in the morning and have it finished by the evening.. can't wait for this. I sadly never played BF 1942
Wake Island is legendary in all BF vets minds. I have started downloading the patch last night. I am assuming the DLC content is included with the fixes. Dice isnt really good at fixing problems without introducing new ones. With the patch for PC you have to launch the game twice as it crashes the first time. Nice 1 xD
all i know is the update doesn't include the DLC, as the DLC is releasing for PC and 360 on the 13th next week. can't wait for it.
Unfortunately, I'm skipping on this one (at least for the moment) I don't have the LE and $15 is quite a hefty price for 4 maps
It contains new maps, new weapons, new vehicles and just more awesomeness.....I can see it now.....even going to sleep even less with this pack. FEEL THE BATTLE
Lets see what happens. I cant see that 3.9Gb is only for a few minor fixes. The You might only be able to access the DLC from the 13th. As that is what they did in the open beta. You downloaded the beta. And at first it was only Operation Metro and then came the Caspian Border without having to download the map or update anything. The batttlelog is the gatekeeper that releases the availability of the DLC and content to registered users. :D Looking 4ward 2 it.
that true what you say there. All I know is the update is only +-200mb. so i must be the DLC thats massive.
