Electronic Arts South Africa recently paid an unexpected visit to Johannesburg-based football club Orlando Pirates at their training base in Rosettenville.
The publisher was there in recognition of the team’s inclusion in FIFA 12, and handed over complementary copies of the game to excited team members who will no doubt take great pleasure in playing as virtual versions of themselves in one of 2011’s best-selling titles.
Ralph Spinks, product marketing manager at EA SA, had this to say about the exchange:
“It was a real honor for us to be able to give the team a small token to show how much we value their sport and talents. We would also like to congratulate them on their latest win against Ajax Cape Town this week.”
“We really hope the players enjoy their FIFA 12 gaming experience and wish the [Under-17 team] the best of luck for the 2011 Future Champions Tournament in Belo Horizonte, Brazil from 12-17 December.”

Comments:
That is really cool of EA. giving away free games away like that. can't they send some free games my way? like NFS the Run etc? but its cool that Orlando Pirates are in Fifa12, bet you they never saw that coming.
Ok that is just awesome, SA is coming up in the world allot of games and movies are starting to recognise us now
I agree, all we need now is more content on Xbox live Marketplace, 10mb adsl lines at the price of 384kb lines, more and more games on the shelves and a couple of things i can't think of right now.
even though this is not the first time local teams have been included in a Fifa game, it is still awesome to get that touch of local pride when you see them on a game! :)
i think fifa 10 was the first time orlando pirates and kaizer chiefs were included in the 'rest of the world' roster. might be wrong though...
