Konami has formally announced that the publisher’s unique-looking action shooter, NeverDead, will be available early next year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while a massive batch of new screenshots were released to accompany the reveal.
Billed as a “demonic action title,” NeverDead follows the exploits of an immortal hero called Bryce Boltzmann who works at an agency dedicated to the destruction of demons wherever they may materialise.
Alongside partner Arcadia, Bryce is currently trying to put an end to an invasion of Earth by demons from the dawn of time. “As the malformed adversaries appear,” writes Konami, “the heavily-armed Bryce must protect his sidekick and work together to kill them all.”
“However, as the monsters get larger and more vicious,” Konami continues, “the side-effect of Bryce’s immortality is revealed. For, as the player is attacked by the various miscreants, Bryce can be torn limb from limb, but can simply reattach the parts to his body.”
“Even when all limbs have been removed, Bryce can roll around as a head, looking to reattach his lost parts. He can even use his amputated body parts as weapons, throwing arms into clusters of monsters, and still firing the attached gun, or lobbing his head into seemingly impossible areas, to gain access to new parts of the map.”
Like we said - unique!
NeverDead will release on January 31st in North America and February 3rd in Europe and the UK across Xbox 360 and PS3 - check out videos and more screenshots for the game via El33tonline’s past looks and get the rest of the new images below:

Comments:
This game looks really good, the visuals are awesome. the game sounds interesting the way it plays out, that you almost never die. Its something different. will look bit more into this game. wonder if it will have CO-op as it as two characters all the time.
Looks humourous at the very least. I'm keeping an eye on this, and Lollipop Chainsaw.
@POItjie: Word has it there if a four-player co-op mode.
Sorry, I don't have a lisp, I meant "is" not "if".
Agreed - there are bound to be more than a few amusing situations, otherwise the whole body part destruction aspect is wasted.
Unique gameplay opportunities too, looking forward to seeing how the final game plays out. A little bit of Max Payne, classic Japanese action and humour sounds awesome to me!
4 player co-op....now that sounds really interesting. I can't wait for Lollipop Chainsaw.
talk about ripping your arm off and beating them with the soggy end ha ha ha, ok this game looks really funny, but i can see a bit of devil my cry in thier.....and like onelargeprawn this is going onto my wathc list
