Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling recently announced that the latest patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available across all platforms, bringing with it a few fixes and improvements, while future updates after version 1.06 are currently in the works and in discussion.
What can you expect with Modern Warfare 3 title update 6, and beyond? Bowling has the scoop:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Title Update 6 Details:
- Additional improvements to address lag.
- Fix for Melee Jump.
- Clan Tag Validation (remove buttons from clan tags).
- Improve Host Migration logic.
- Prevent stat Loss.
Hot Fixes after Title Update 6:
Weapon Rebalancing (Dual FMG-9, Type-95, CM-901 Attachments)
Hitmarker Sound on PS3
Reticle fix for certain weapons.
Fixes currently in discussion:
Updates to the Spawn system
Further “lag compensation” or “host advantage / disadvantage” updates plus ability for on-going hot fixes based on feedback.
Default :30 Round Start timer for System Link only, while looking into adjustable timer for System Link games for Competitive Play.
Options to allow System Link players to ‘unlock all’ for competitive play in System Link only.

Okay guys so I'm finally on holiday and am thinking I need to get a new multiplayer game on Xbox. So ... I wanna know what you recommend for online play: BF3 or MW3?
PS I have a pretty good idea which one will dominate ;)
OK, so I think the El33tonline community is going to vote for Battlefield 3 (mostly), but the two are very different games, both in singleplayer and online.
Modern Warfare 3 is super fast-paced - almost like a modern-day 'realistic' version of Quake 3. If you followed the logical evolution path from Quake to today, Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer is what you would get.
Battlefield 3 is more strategic and, dare I say it, punishing for those who aren't careful. You can get your devil-may-care shooting jollies in team deathmatch, but other modes require teamwork to win and survive. Also, the levels are much larger and use vehicles, which can be a blessing and a curse.
Both online communities are very well supported, and will be well into the future.
I'll leave it up to the rest of the community to help you decide, but keep in mind both are very worthy games, but very different experiences. ;)

@Oliver: I must admit I've become quite good at Quake 3 recently, been playing it a lot during IT! (Shh, don't tell anyone ;))
But I think bf3 looks like the fresher experience at the moment for me. I haven't played any of the other battlefield games, and have had hands-on time with both mw3 and bf3. Although I'm pretty sure I know which one to get (first), I just need some confirmation ;)
My reasons for choosing BF3 over MW3 after one session online last night.
1 - Visuals better
2 - More realistic in terms of current day warfare standards
3 - More strategic
4 - Maps are better with regards to stratey and size (Damn those maps are huge)
5 - Vehicles are epic.
6 - Learning curve is immense but when you have the hang of it it`s friggin mind blowing
7 - More realistic in terms of teamwork because if you dont communicate you will die
All in all it`s a better FPS across the board and one should not overlook it I am deeply unhappy with myself that i waited this long to get into the BF series but i am happy that i got the opportunity to do my thing online.
Fridays for me will never be the same again as i will be joining the guys regularly now
LORD OF THE FRAGS - You will be losing out on an epic gaming experience if you skip BF3
If you can afford it get both like Oliver said two different paced games but if you can only get one take Portal 2. >:)
Just kidding BF3 is king. @SKWEH I got your very first WOW moment in BF3, Damavand peak will be your next WOW moment but there will be more What da hell moments to come.
