Thanks to a Game Informer magazine cover reveal, it’s been revealed that RPG masters Obsidian Entertainment are currently working on a role-playing game set in the most unlikely of properties: South Park.
Obsidian Entertainment (Fallout: New Vegas, Dungeon Siege 3) and THQ are collaborating with South Park series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker to create an RPG based on the long-running hit animated TV show, both of whom will perform script writing and voice acting duties while overseeing development of the game.
South Park: The Game is due out in the second half of 2012 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and is described as a “full-scale RPG.”
According to Game Informer, the title will follow the adventures of a new kid in the neighbourhood of South Park and you’ll need to make friends in the town while simultaneously defending it from unknown threats.
So, kind of like Costume Quest from Double Fine?
The South Park issue of Game Informer is out next week, so look for it soon to find out more about South Park: The Game.
Say, did you ever play the older South Park games, and that tower defence game?
