Haven’t yet had a chance to try out the team-based first-person shooter from Splash Damage and Bethesda Softworks? Good news for you then, because Brink is available for free over Valve’s digital distribution service, Steam, this weekend!
Why would the developer/publisher pair provide such an offer? To celebrate the addition of new community tools!
Starting today (December 1st) and ending on Monday (December 5th), you’ll be able to play Brink for free over Steam and if you do, you’ll have the additional option to buy the game for a whopping 75% off!
This event is to highlight the addition of full clan support, ladders and tournaments to all versions of Brink to make it a much more complete social multiplayer shooter and provide new tools with which to play and enjoy the game.
You can look over the official announcement of the clans, ladders and tournament feature list and implementation at the Bethesda Blog over here.

This is really cool and all, but you spend all that time downloading the game and then comes monday it expires and you only mananged to get like 3 or 4 ours max into the game. In the US and Uk this works great. with their 30mb lines. I say Telkom should put in the 4mb line as the entry level line and the price of the 384kb line and bring the 8 and 10mb lines as the medium and high end packages. Who is with me on this?
@POItjie SA line speed sux and its so sad as we will never be able to take part in any of these, that price cut is awesome though, but sadly BRINK was dissapointing i expected something different from the game
Steam should start selling games in SA Rands. Then I'll be happy to buy more games on the service. I don't really like buying in Dollars.
Can't wait for my Dawn of War 2 Retribution expansion to arrive.
