If you’re like me, you’ve chomping for any and all news related to the next game set in the Alan Wake franchise, and in mid-December, we’re finally going to be able to see what Remedy has been working on since the original game’s release last year.
The next Alan Wake game, rumoured to be called Alan Wake: Night Springs, will get its first official reveal and announcement on December 10th during this year’s edition of the Spike Videogame Awards, while new information on the title has recently emerged thanks to Xbox frontman Major Nelson.
In a recent Twitter post, Nelson wrote:
“We can confirm that this new “Alan Wake” game will be a fully standalone experience and released on Xbox LIVE.”
This is an interesting snippet because Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen earlier this year claimed that the next Alan Wake title, which isn’t a sequel to the first game, would not be downloadable.
Lots of awesome games were revealed at last year’s Spike VGAs, with announcements for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Prototype 2 and SSX all taking place, with the debut Uncharted 3 trailer also being hosted at the event - relive the magic of last year with this collection of trailers from the show.
Metal Gear Solid Rising and a new Bioware game will also make a showing at the Spike VGAs 2011 - what else do you hope to see at the show this year? Tune in on December 10th!

this game made me laugh the whole game through hahaha, wasnt scary :D
Ok, this is just telling me I need to start playing Alan Wake. I got the game like 4 months ago and never even placed it inside my Xbox 360. I'll check it out this weekend when I'm not gaming BF3 or RAGE or RED FACTION or all the other 9+ games i need to finish......I need a Holiday so i can do some gaming.
A gaming holiday? Sounds good!
You must play Alan Wake - it's amazing. Well, it was amazing last year, don't know if subsequent games have taken the edge off. I really enjoyed it, for what it's worth. ;)
I think I'll still enjoy the game. I enjoy all my games I play. (Even the bad ones). Will have a look at it this weekend.
The way Alan moved reminded me to much of Max payne. Remedy stop thinking Alan Payne and more Alan Wake or Alan Awoke.
