Microsoft recently sent out word that its Xbox 360 managed to sell nearly 1 million units during the week of Black Friday in the US, and over the course of the Thanksgiving holiday in the country.
This news follows an announcement by Nintendo that on Black Friday (November 25th) alone, the Wii sold half a million units.
According to Microsoft, Xbox 360 sold 960 000 units over the week of Black Friday in the US, recording “the biggest sales week in the history of Xbox.”
In addition, 800 000 of these sales were recording within a 24 hour period, according to internal sales data, while 750 000 Kinect devices were also sold at retail, both standalone and bundled.
Earlier this week, Nintendo made a Black Friday announcement of its own, revealing that 500 000 units of the Wii were sold within a 24 hour reporting period. It will be interesting to see how full ‘Black Friday Week’ sales of the Wii compare to those of Xbox 360, so we’re hoping Nintendo sends that information out soon.

That's a lot of Xbox's and Wii's sold. Can't believe that there is still people that don't own the awesome system (Xbox 360). But if I lived in the US, I would have bought another unit for the house. Congrats to Microsoft and Nintendo on your good sales.
