Promised 3DS firmware update delayed until early December
3DS owners the world over can stop holding onto any hope of receiving new features for the handheld via a promised firmware update this month, because Nintendo has confirmed that the planned hardware revision has been delayed.
We’ll all need to wait until December 8th before we’re able to download and apply any form of 3DS firmware update, as Nintendo says that more time is necessary to make preparations for the release of the firmware.
When we are able to grab the update, what new 3DS features can we look forward to?
- 3D movie capture and playback functionality added to the 3DS Camera program
- Additional features for Mii Plaza
- Functionality for transferring download titles and data from one 3DS to another
Sounds great - hang in there 3DS owners!

Firmware updates are always a good thing and delays are always a bad thing, but as i dont have a 3DS im not sure how important this update is
I don't mind firmware upgrades if they actually add extra stuff, not like the PS3 that eleases a 185mb patch just to tweak the PSN settings. I think everyone can learn from Xbox with there dashboard upgrades etc. When i win a 3DS then i'll look deeper into the firmware updates.
