As reported by users of Bethesda Softworks’ forums earlier today, a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim became available in Europe today, while North American PS3 gamers will be able to download it shortly.
What about PC and Xbox 360 players? And what’s due to be fixed in the upcoming patch?
According to a recent blog post by Bethesda Softworks, the version 1.2 patch for Skyrim will become available on PC and Xbox 360 platforms on Wednesday, November 30th - this is the expected time of arrival, at least.
What fixes and updates can you expect with the patch? Here are the official patch notes:
Skyrim Update 1.2 Notes (all platforms unless specified)
- Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)
- Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)
- Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)
- Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away
- Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead
- Dragon corpses now clean up properly
- Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack
- Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug

Comments:
some interesting fixes in this patch. would love to get my hand on this game for the xbox, the Collectors edition would go nicely with my collection.
The texture makes me happy. I have it installed to my HDD on my 360, but I fond some of the textures look like someone threw on a canvas and called it art.
That's interesting GaaTY, I've actually only installed two games to the HDD of my 360, Battlefield 3 HD pack and RAGE. I really need to get Skyrim for the Xbox. But i just might buy it for the PC. still deciding.
It seems like each version had its own set of glitches, i like POItjie think ill only be getting this for the PC, the collectors edition would be nice but that all depends on my budget.
how much is the PC Collectors edition? I'm really tempted to get the Diablo 3 Collectors. I heard a rumour it will be selling for 799....not bad if you ask me. starts googling Skyrim PC collectors Edition
It was surprising for me as well. When on the loading screen they usually show weapons/monsters/people with the greatest of intricate details then I'm like WOW that looks insane.
But when in-game most of the things are like bleh. Even my character model, there is no detail at all. Looks like some mushy paper craft that my character is covered in.
that's hectic. but I'm glad this update fixes that issue. is the PC version steam based or just a normal install? does anybody know? if not I'll just check it out on the net.
Does anyone know what the size of this patch is?
I can already see the difference with the textures. Awesome :)
Great news!
How big was the patch, in the end?
I see the patch fixes some things but create new glitches like dragons flying backward, i saw the videos posted on Youtube.
The patch was about 3MB! And yes there's a definite improvement. Instead of the paper mache that my character was covered in, its now in GREAT detail.
@Fullmetal MDK, oh please! Dragon Flying backwards? That's no glitch... that's a Dragon being pure awesomesauce :D
These new bugs I'm reading about, is it platform specific?
