Catherine has been a huge success for developer Atlus thus far, with over half a million copies sold since it was released in Japan and the US earlier this year.
Fortunately this quirky title for PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be making its way to European territories next year thanks to Dead Island publisher Deep Silver. The game was recently pegged for a February release, with the exact date to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Deep Silver has revealed that first edition copies of Catherine will feature a special flip-cover with the lead character’s competing love interests (Katherine and Catherine) appearing on either side.
With award season now upon us, it’ll be fascinating to see what categories Catherine can claim. Hopefully it’s highly original combination of RPG, horror and puzzle-platforming elements will stand it in good stead to take home some awards, while it’s mature, philosophical subject matter will undoubtedly have left an indelible impression on many a game critic and fan.
