This week’s Media Create hardware chart sees the 3DS selling over 100 000 units for the second week in a row. While sales of Nintendo’s handheld are down by 41 309 units from last week, the 3DS is still the standout performer on the Japanese hardware chart, accounting for 62% of all purchases in this category.
The PSP and PS3 came in second and third place respectively, with sales of both consoles lower than what they were last week. Meanwhile, the fourth-placed Wii is holding steady at around 11 700 units - about half of what the PS3 sold.
It will be fascinating to see what transpires on the hardware chart once the PS Vita is introduced into the equation on December 17th. I’m expecting PSV to do well initially but I think the 3DS will outsell it for most of 2012 due to its considerably lower price and broader target audience.

Comments:
its a given that any Sony product would be at the top of the list, microsoft even gave up on trying to get into the japanese market they have too many restrictions
3DS is still selling like hot cakes. Would really really love a red one like in the image above. (I know I've said it millions of times, but if i keep saying it, it just might come true.)
